Hyderabad City Crafts Tour

Duration: 5-6 hours

This is a private car tour to explore the traditional arts and crafts of Hyderabad.

We will visit the home of a family who are all engaged in ikat, block printing and screen printing. The unit is headed by an enterprising woman who has won a National Award for her work on ikat. We will also visit a zardosi (embroidery) unit, a lac bangle making unit, and a bidri (metalwork) workshop in the vibrant and busy bazaars around Charminar.

This tour provides ample opportunities for shopping - the workshops have their own attached shops nearby, and the bazars have almost any arts and crafts you're looking for.

If you have any other specific interests, please let us know in advance and we will try to plan it for you.

We will pick you up and drop you at your hotel.

Cost:

• INR 1800 per person for 7-8 persons
• INR 2400 per person for 5-6 persons
• INR 3400 per person for 3-4 persons
• INR 5000 per person for 2 persons
• INR 8500 for a solo traveller

Includes:

Tour notes: Press dress modestly and ensure you have adequate sun protection. In the markets and craft workshops, please ask permission if you are photographing people. Some people do not like it, but some will allow it. Please do not attempt to pay or tip people for allowing photography. Please note that due to festivals, holidays or personal reasons, some craftspeople may not be available on certain days.
