What this walk is about: The Charminar and the area around it are synonymous with Hyderabad. This walk explores the major must-see monuments in the area and provides a glimpse into the life and times of Hyderabad from the Qutb Shahi period to the Nizams and beyond.
While walking through the busy streets, you also see Hyderabad's everyday life, including food stalls and famous traditional crafts such as zardosi workshops, lac bangle workshops, etc. An absolute must-do for those who wish to explore Hyderabad's heritage as well as street life, with outstanding opportunities for photography!
Route: Charminar - Mecca Masjid - Lad Bazaar - Shahi Jilu Khana - Mehboob Chowk Clocktower - Homeopathy hospital - Metal market - Meat market - Birds market - Chowk mosque – Abdarkhana – Asman Jah deodi - Khurshid Jah deodi - Iqbal-ud-daulah deodi - Chowmahalla Palace
We will spend 45 minutes at the Chowmahalla Palace museum. We will only walk past the meat market and the birds market.
Start point: Parking lot of the Government Nizamia General Hospital (Charminar hospital)
End point: Chowmahalla Palace
Morning tour: 11:00 to 13:00
Afternoon tour: 14:00 to 17:00

Tour notes: The bazaars are safe but crowded and chaotic. Please dress conservatively and ensure you have adequate sun protection. The Mecca Masjid requires women to wear long scarves/stoles/dupattas. If you forget to bring these, they will lend you something, but it is better to bring your own. Shorts are not allowed for people of any gender in the religious monuments.
